SERVICE MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Service Manager is responsible for managing a team of Support Leaders and Support Workers within a domiciliary setting to provide care and support to service users all of whom have epilepsy and learning difficulties. The work is within the service users own shared home and this must be respected at all times

Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:

  •  Have experience at managerial level caring for learning difficulties and
  • At least 2 years experience supervising staff.
  • Be familiar with CSCI and the Care Standards Act 2000, health and safety legislation and environmental legislation
  • Be used to liaising with external agencies, care managers, parents
  • Experienced in recognising staff development to improve performance
  • Supervision and Appraisal skills
  • Implementation, maintenance and monitoring of care planning processes for service users and the key working systems within a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Monitoring & Maintenance of financial, organisational and statutory records
  • Delivery and promotion of service users rights in ways which reflect their values whilst supporting them in making choices
  • To have specific responsibility to deliver services to services users in ways which reflect the values of the organisation including: the promotion of service users rights and supporting them to make choices, be consulted and involved To implement, maintain and monitor the care planning process for clients and the key worker system in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • To investigate complaints and matters of ill treatment to clients. The post holder will actively participate within the home’s disciplinary process
  • To participate in the on-call system

 You must possess an NVQ level 3 and be willing to work towards an NVQ 4
