Residential Care

Independence Homes is one of the very few specialist providers of epilepsy care in the UK. Our community based residential care services offer 24 hour waking care and support for people with epilepsy who may also have other difficulties such as learning or physical disabilities.
Our ethos is to support individuals to make the most of their lives, regardless of their ability. We enable people to pursue their dreams, focusing on what they can do, rather than what they can’t. We achieve this through personalised plans and stimulating community-based care.
Our community-based residential care services are maintained to a high standard and all 5 of our residential services are 100% compliant according to CQC regulations.
We encourage people to make their own choices and to get involved with decision making around their home. Our services are all situated in vibrant locations with easy access to a range of activities and local amenities. Many of our services offer additional therapy suites, sensory rooms or creative areas. We offer high levels of staff support, specifically tailored to meet the needs of each individual. We work closely with parents and other providers to ensure a positive and successful transition.
We know that independence means different things to different people, but we invest the time that is required to understand what is really important to each individual. We then enable people to achieve those aims in a safe and supportive environment.
“It is clear the service users value the autonomy and independence they have whilst receiving the level of support commensurate with their needs and safety.”
Care Quality Commission“The way Julia manages Katherine’s medical care has been exemplary. Nothing is ever too much. She frequently goes beyond the call of duty and will deal with problems at any time, night or day. She is incredibly knowledgeable, hard working and approachable. I cannot think of anyone else I would rather have dealing with my daughter’s medical needs. She is a credit to her profession and to Independence Homes”.
Mrs Kendall – mother“We don’t have to tell you how happy and relieved we are that, after over 4 years, Melissa is finally where she ‘belongs’. We still have to reassure ourselves that it has really happened!”
