Safety in focus: 24/7
February 2010

Care home safety once again came under the spotlight after the death of a severely disabled girl in a care home in Oxfordshire.  The girl suffered 25% burns when she was put in a scalding bath, and died from her injuries. Sadly, it’s not the first incident of its kind, and it only serves to highlight the need for care homes to ensure that they have the right equipment and procedures in place to minimise the chances of injury to service users.
