Easing the transition from school to adulthood - NCYPE visits Independence Homes
January 2010Leaving school and moving into an adult environment is a challenging time. An initiative led by the National Centre for Young People with Epilepsy (NCYPE), a specialist centre providing education, treatment and care for children and young people with complex epilepsy and other neurological conditions, saw students visit some of the services at Independence Homes. They saw how support was provided for adults living with epilepsy and learning disabilities. The aim of the visit was to help students learn more about the different types of adult services available to them when they leave school.

January 2010The tenth year of Independence Homes has been a very busy year for the medical department. We remain one of only five epilepsy specialists in the UK and the only specialist domiciliary care company to receive an excellent rating by CQC for four years running
