Care and support for people with epilepsy

Training

Like any people-based service, we know that our staff team's expertise is essential to our continued success. We consider that high-quality training is of the utmost importance in ensuring this.

Epilepsy training is at the centre of our training programme. These courses are bespoke to our organisation and are intense and demanding, but we make no apologies for that. Our aim is that our service users should be supported by the best trained staff in the country.

Our focus is upon ensuring that the needs and preferences of our service users are at the heart of what we do at all times. Thus it seemed logical to us to involve service users in our training events.

Mutual support for one another is an integral part of our training philosophy.

All staff are given full training for NVQs and are trained in line with the Common Induction Standards.  This is an initiative supported by Skills for Care, providing a benchmark for the induction of all care staff.

We are also a registered satellite centre for the British Institute for Learning Disabilities, meaning we have access to the latest materials and support.
